| 摘要： | With £22.9m funding from the Department for Transport [DfT], the programme has seen trials and innovation across data and communications, materials, energy and mobility through eight individual Live Labs projects. Each local authority-led project has demonstrated how local highways can introduce new programmes at speed. Live Labs 1 has given us a number of unexpected insights. The programme focused on driving innovation on local roads, often using technological solutions, but what has surprised me most is how you manage innovation to make it successful. The focus is not about the shiny new technology; it's about bringing people along with you. Although important, it is not the application of the technology, or the solutions that we find, that is critical to success - it's how you tell the stories around it. It's how you get decision-makers on board. It's how you lead with energy and enthusiasm. I spend all my time immersed in this world of new technology, new services, new solutions, new commercial models, but it all needs that energy, enthusiasm, understanding and human capital to make it successful. That's been the big learning point for me. |
