What is the story behind ATP and what brought you to work for them? ATP was started by three former colleagues at SignPost Solutions (SPS); Mark Grice ex managing director, Tim Daly, sales manager and myself, a former sales and marketing director and SPS shareholder. The sale of SPS a couple of years ago prompted Mark and Tim to leave SPS and realise their dreams of starting up and running a business of their own. I had retired in 2015 but when Mark and Tim asked if I wanted to come on board as a partner and investor I didn't hesitate to say yes and ATP was born. What is your unique selling point? I suppose what appeals to many customers is that we are very niche in what we do. We supply traffic sign posts, signal poles, traffic sign fixings and other traffic sign related structures and products and we're just very good and experienced at what we do and how we go about it; a lot of customers like this and trust us as it helps their own businesses succeed. We offer experience, a high degree of professionalism, flexibility but above all, service. We stock in depth and have a fantastic business relationship with our own suppliers many of which are local to us in the West Midlands. These local companies have supported us from day one and their close proximity also helps to make our lead times probably the best in the business. |
