摘要: Tactile indicators for traffic signals -also known as rotating cones - are found at the bottom of the signal at pedestrian crossings and rotate to let those with visual impairments know when it's safe to cross. Since acquiring Radix, the team at AGD Systems has set out to enhance the design and performance of their tactile indicators, including the cone options, and brought in experts from the charity and public sectors to help inform this process. Representatives from REMAP - a charity which custom builds equipment to make the lives of those with disabilities easier - and Gloucestershire County Council's social care team visited the AGD headquarters in Cheltenham to see early prototypes first-hand, and share insights into how users relied on this type of equipment. Greg Baker, commercial manager at AGD, explains: 'The charity and social services team explained that some people with diabetes suffer both losses of sight and of sensation in their fingers, making it hard for them to feel the rotating cone.
