| 摘要： | This October we celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Highways Awards. Ours were the first national roads awards and for a generation they have remained the most prestigious mark of excellence in our industry. It is an incredible achievement and the team at Highways magazine could not be prouder. Our finalists and winners should also feel immensely proud of their place in the history of this industry and their work for society at large. One of the most heartwarming developments we have seen over the years is how much the work of this industry has deepened in scope. The highways sector now extends from satellites above to the roots of our communities and the health and wellbeing of the people in them. Across the generations, roads are there for our most important journeys, from first to last. The one thing roads do that no other mode does is take us home, all the way to our front door. It means we touch on all aspects of society and it is what makes us vital to everyone. At Highways magazine we hope our awards will always feel like home to you, just as they have been these last 20 years. By the time you read this, we may well be sold out so I suggest you immediately rush to secure a ticket for the awards night on 11 October at the Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge, London, and return to the rest of this magazine later. |
