摘要: Mueller Milk & Ingredients is testing whether solar panels and kinetic energy can power its refrigerated heavy goods vehicle trailers as an alternative to diesel engines. Mueller, in partnership with Sunswap, Mailed the delivery of fresh milk using refrigerated trailers that are battery- and solar-powered. Additionally, the company is testing a refrigerated trailer system powered by kinetic energy as part of a collaboration with Carrier Transicold. The Carrier Transicold Vector eCool converts energy generated by the trailer axle and brakes into electricity, which is then stored in a battery pack to power the refrigeration unit. First Bus is to receive 70 electric buses to support its plans to operate a fully electric fleet at its Norwich Roundtree Way depot. By working together with Norfolk County Council, an investment of £ 14.7 million has been secured from the Department for Transport's (Zebra) government funding, alongside investment of around £ 22.5m from First Bus. The introduction of the new bus fleet, built by UK bus manufacturer Wrightbus, means that over half of the Norwich network operated by First Bus will now be electric. Each electric bus is expected to save up to 60 tonnes of tailpipe emissions per year.
