| 摘要： | If you haven't yet seen it, I recommend a visit to the BBC iPlayer to catch up with Inside the Factory XL in which Gregg Wallace and Cherry Healey take viewers round the Alexander Dennis plant in Scarborough - the one many of us still think of as Plaxton - to see how a double-decker is built. It was filmed around a year ago, and in an hour, with the help of shop floor experts, they follow the progress of a battery-electric Enviro400EV City for RATP London as its BYD chassis arrives from China, framework, floors and roof are built up, seats and other fixtures and fittings are added, windows and lights are installed and it is masked, spray painted and lettered. Healey also visits Tyneside Safety Glass in Newcastle to discover how curved windscreens are manufactured. |
