As a fellow reader of "You Say" in the Sunday Times, I enjoyed your article in Millar's Tales (Buses December 2021) and also the letter from Robert Whippe in the same issue. However, I must disagree with him that "TV 'soaps' usually get it right." The village of Emmerdale seems to have a regular daily bus service in marked contrast to much of the Yorkshire Dales. Coronation Street's title sequence has been in use for so long now, that the opening frame shows a long since withdrawn First Bus Volvo saloon in obsolete livery entering Albert Square, Manchester from Princess Street, in what is now the totally wrong direction! Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year. |
