摘要: The merger agreement announced in December makes it highly likely that these will be the last separate handbooks on Stagecoach and National Express. The 2022 Stagecoach book is earlier than usual and was compiled just seven months after the 2021 edition. Not a lot has happened in the intervening months, though the fleet has become smaller and the only additional vehicles shown be on order are six Alexander Dennis Enviro200s for Dover and nine Optare Solos for Orkney. The National Express is later than usual, the first since April 2020. It was delayed in part while fleetnumbers were established for the National Express Transport Solutions business that incorporates The Kings Ferry, Clarkes, Stewarts, Woods and Lucketts. A notable change from last time is the exclusion of the Xplore Dundee fleet, sold to McGill's at the end of 2020. The West Midlands entry includes the recently delivered Wright StreetDeck Hydroliners. As before, it also includes listings of the NatEx coaches operated by third party contracts, one of which is Stagecoach Yorkshire. Their numbers have fallen from 22 to 18 as more routes have been taken on by the Transport Solutions companies. Go South Coast, Whippet and Yellow Buses no longer operate white coach routes, while Travel de Courcey has gone out of business. Both books are illustrated with quality colour photographs and can be regarded as collectors' editions, capturing two parts of a soon to be combined business that is set to change. What today is Stagecoach will likely operate many more NatEx coach services, while the sale of Stagecoach's Megabus, South West Falcon and share of Scottish Citylink could introduce new third party contractors.
