Transport for London's latest annual 'Travel in London' report shows wide variations in the extent to which bus passenger numbers have recovered since lockdown restrictions began to ease. Data taken during October 2021 showed that bus demand in the London Borough of Camden was still only 64% of pre-Covid levels, while in Hillingdon and Barking it had increased to 82%. With the exception of Richmond and Bromley, where volumes were only 66% and 68% of 2019 levels, outer London boroughs all saw passengers at over 70% of pre-Covid numbers. 1.Strike action in a dispute over rosters for night tube disrupted underground services on a number of weekends in November and December. To mitigate the impact additional buses were provided on some routes that largely parallel the affected lines. |
