The idea of attaching unpowered buses to agricultural tractors is catching on. No sooner had I written last month's item about the open-sided trailers carrying visitors to the Channel island of Sark than David Longbottom was back in touch with this contraption spotted while on a walk in rural East Yorkshire. It's the filleted remains of what used to be a Marshall-bodied Dennis Dart, devoid of its front axle and probably its engine and transmission. There are passengers (farm hands?) aboard. Don't let the AY12 numberplate mislead you into thinking that's its identity. That's the registration of the tractor. The bus will date from the 1990s. |
