摘要: Vietnamese electric bus manufacturer Vinbus is planning to build a production plant in Germany as part of major expansion into Europe. Vinbus, which is part of Vietnam's huge Vingroup conglomerate, launched its first electric bus last year. It went into service on a private road at the futuristic Vinhomes Ocean Park complex in Hanoi on April 8, 2021. The bus began plying other routes in the city from last December. The company has announced plans to sell between 150 and 200 buses to operators in the cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh Cit and Phu Quoc. The boldly-styled bus, whose distinctive sloping front windscreen harks back to the Optare Delta built from 1988-1999, has a battery capacity of 281kWh and a range of up to 260km. Vinfast said the bus can be fully charged after two hours using the company's 150kW fast charging station system. Vinbus is working with the Germany Trade and Invest GTAI agency to find a site for the new plant which would also build a range of electric cars for the European market. The company has given no timeframe for establishing the new factory. Until it goes on stream, buses for European customers would be imported from Vietnam from a production facility which opened in Hai Phon city in 2019.
