The village of Great Wakering, in rural south-east Essex between Southend of Foulness Island, may be harbouring one of the better kept secrets and British bus operation. Or so suggests Showbus organiser Martin Isles, who had cause to visit the parish council's website in pursuit of public transport information. His jaw dropped on discovering not only that its service 7 is in apparently great demand, but provided by Orion transit buses from New York that follow the American rule of the road. As we're wont to comment when presented with such random picture choices, at least it isn't a misplaced London Routemaster. |
