摘要: Stagecoach East has again cut service frequencies on the Cambridgeshire Busway as it battles with reduced passenger numbers and rising staff absences and shortages. Busway routes frequencies had previously been increased in April last year. The latest changes came in on January 23, 2022 and saw daytime frequencies on the B Hinchinbrooke-Cambridge route and the A between St Ives and Trumpington cut from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. The short service A workings between Cambridge and Trumpington were also cut from every 20 minutes to every 30 minutes. The changes mean that on the core section of the Busway from St Ives to Cambridge, and also between central Cambridge and Trumpington, buses now operate every 15 minutes instead of every ten minutes. At the same time, Busway services between Addenbrookes and Cambridge railway station are having to use Hills Road following closure of one side of the Busway pending a review of safety for pedestrians and cyclists from January 31 (Buses February). Busway services had been particularly affected by staff shortages at the company's Fenstanton depot in recent months with frequent cancellations and short workings. Stagecoach East managing director Darren Roe told Buses: "We have been around 10% short of drivers at Fenstanton depot and have been using drivers loaned from other depots to help, but at times it has been particularly difficult covering the service.
