Transport for London (TfL) has awarded three-year contracts to the incumbent operators to run four routes. The routes affected are the 201 (Morden - Herne Hill), 260 (Golders Green - White City), 302 (Kensal Risse - Mill Hill Broadway) and R68 (Hampton Court - Kew Retail Park). The short term awards are designed to even out the peaks and troughs in the tendering programme. Route 130 (New Addington - Thornton Heath) and 410 (Wellington - Crystal Palace have been awarded to for six years from August 24 next year. Other recent awards are for seven years and will see existing vehicles replaced by new battery-electric buses. Several routes serving Croydon will receive new battery-electric buses including the 289 (Purley - Elmers End) will be converted to double deck operation. The only route to change operator will be schooldays service 663 (Thornton Heath - Pampisford Road) which passes from Metrobus to Arriva London South. |
