Having been awarded £5.56million for 26 new battery-electric vehicles and associated infrastructure in the first phase of ScotZEB, Ember Core says it plans to operate 38 vehicles and develop a national network of coach services. The company is registered in Edinburgh and started in 2020, running two battery-electric Yutong TCe12 coaches between Dundee and Edinburgh. A second pair arrived towards the end of last year, allowing the frequency of the service to be increased; these coaches were the first of ten for which the company secured part-funding through Sulebs, the Scottish government's previous Scottish Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme. |
