Alisdair Goodall, commercial officer at Stagecoach North Scotland's Inverness-based Highlands business, has retired after a near 52-year career in the industry. An enthusiast as well as a professional, he joined the then Highland Omnibuses when it was part of the state-owned Scottish Bus Group and its operating area was extended south-westward to absorb most of the bus services of the David MacBrayne company and, from 1970 to 1985, the Oban depot of Alexander (Midland). He also worked for Alexander (Midland), Crosville and the Rapson Group which owned parts of the Highland company from 1991 until Stagecoach acquired its bus operations in the mainland, Skye and Orkney in 2008. |
