Here's another challenge for those of you with a keen eye for vehicles from faraway shores. Like me, Dave Tandy has been intrigued by a bus that appears in a television advertisement for Kinder Surprise on a setting that seems almost authentically British but almost certainly isn't. The cars - a green mini and a silver Toyota - and the large village green with children at play could be practically anywhere in our fair land, the blue bus is right-hand-drive and like the Toyota has a British registration plate, but KY03 RUH doesn't show up on the excellent Bus Lists on the Web website and the bus isn't a design I recognise as ever operated by anyone in the UK. There are sequences in the advert shot inside this single-decker, and they are no more familiar. I have a sense that it might be from Australia or New Zealand, but with digital modifications to the front that disguise any original identity like a maker's badge or fleetname, as well as adding the British numberplate. The grille may be one such addition. Surely at least one of you can identify it for what it is. |
