Newly restored Citybus 2784 (BCZ 2784), a Volvo B10BLE with Wright Renown body, made its first appearance in preservation on April 1 at an event organised by Irish Transport Heritage to mark the 50th anniversary of the transfer of Belfast's bus operations from municipal to state ownership. It has been put back into the then new livery of sea green and mint green with tomato red stripes and swoops that it carried when first operated at Falls Park depot in October 1999. It was transferred to Ulsterbus in September 2008 and sold in April 2016 to the Dunglebe Sporting & Cultural Society in Ballymoney, Co. Antrim for whom Wrightbus repainted it in Transport for London red. Metro private hire driver Owen McKinstry and his brother Stephen acquired it in April last year. |
