Founded: May 1995 by Nicholas Harpur, who for 12 years was manager of Derby City Transport's Blue Bus Services subsidiary. After 23 years with the company, Harpur was made redundant when DCT sold the business to Viking Coaches. Traded originally as Harpur & Son (in tribute to his father's business) and incorporated as company in 2003. First bus was ex-DCT driver trainer AEC Regent V/Park Royal (YAF 151 A, 239 AJB) new 1962 to the Atomic Energy Research Establishment at Harwell, which operated services on behalf of St Benedicts School. Expanded with addition of two Plaxton Supreme coaches, DAF MB200 687 NUO [TND 412X) and ex-Barton Leyland Leopard LNU 571W which is now preserved. Fleet based at Arriva's ex-DCT depot, with maintenance contracted in. |
