摘要：	For over 70 years I had wanted to drive a bus. On Sunday, June 5, First South Yorkshire held an open day at its Doncaster depot to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee and 120 years of buses in Doncaster. As well as a display of preserved vehicles, they assembled together all the First South Yorkshire buses painted in the various liveries of the erstwhile transport departments which merged to form SYPTE in 1974. As part of the day, there was the opportunity to drive one of the driver training vehicles around a figure of eight course on a neighbouring car park. I paid my £20 donation to charity and finally realised my ambition. Jason, the instructor took me through the controls and off we went. Remarkably, I found it easier than I had imagined. The automatic gearbox was easy to deal with as was the power steering. The accompanying pictures show me inside the cab and standing in front of 66881(MX05CKP) a Wright Eclipse Urban bodied Volvo B7RLE which I had driven for 15 minutes around the circuit.
