| 摘要： | The Leyland National 50 supplement made very interesting reading. I remember the excitement of seeing mention of this project developing in successive issues of Buses. Having grown up in BMMO territory, imagine then the disappointment I felt when riding on Midland Red's first National, number 101 on my local route for the first time. Thin, plastic covered seats and basic looking fittings, heaters blowing downwards above head level, a strange sounding engine note and non-centring steering - all felt very basic and strange in comparison to BMMO products. There very soon followed tales of Nationals being kept in the garage on Sundays as they were too expensive to run! |
