| 摘要： | First Group has announced that it will be closing its Southampton operation from February 19. It said its operations were "not sustainable" and had been made worse by the pandemic and changing travel patterns. The operation has its origins in the opening of a horse tramway company in 1879. The operation was acquired by Southampton Corporation in 1898 and electrification followed in 1900. Following earlier experiments, the first regular motorbus service ran in 1919. Buses replaced the last trams in 1949. |
