摘要: This unitary council, which finally brought the whole conurbation of 400,000 residents together in 2019, was awarded £8.9m. Of course, at the time there were two major operators in the area, and the proposals have now been reworked to cater for a post-Yellow Buses world, in which the number of buses serving the area has dropped from 320 to 230. The complications of a newly formed authority also means that many of the usual statistics can only be shown for the former Bournemouth and Poole parts, with nothing to cover Christchurch, previously in Dorset. People in Bournemouth made 78 bus journeys per head, a third more than in Poole, and placing it above Plymouth and York. Go South Coast held 63% of the market to Yellow Buses' 36%, and both participated in the pre-existing South East Dorset Voluntary Quality Bus Partnership.
