As Mike Fenton explains on the next page, East Yorkshire Motor Services was distinguished for decades by the unique contoured shape of the roofs of its double-deckers, built to pass through the narrow archway of the North Bar in Beverley. Iain MacGregor captured the full effect in June 1967 when he photographed one of the company's Park Royal-bodied AEC Renowns emerging from the 1409-built Bar to reach the open air Saturday Market which then was as close as the town got to having a bus station. |
