| 摘要： | The Trolleybus Museum at Sandtoft has launched a fresh appeal for £50,000 to complete the restoration of a 1948 three-axle BUT built for Johannesburg City Transport in South Africa. Much work has already been undertaken on Johannesburg 589, one of the vehicles built to replace 18 similar AEC 661Ts with Metro-Cammell bodies that were ordered in 1939 but were unable to be shipped to South Africa following the outbreak, of World War Two and were delivered instead to London Transport in 1942/43 to form its SA3 class. They joined the 25 similar SA1 and SA2 class Leylands originally intended for the city of Durban. |
