Restored London vehicles were in action on February 19 for an early season running day at the Epping Ongar Railway, the heritage line over the route of the closed outer eastern end of the London Underground's Central line. In this view, ECW-bodied Bristol LH6L BL88 (OJD 88R), new to London Transport in 1977 to replace RF-class AEC Regal IVs on routes deemed unsuitable for larger Leyland Nationals, stands ahead of a line of other red buses led by the London Bus Company's SMI (AML 1H), a Marshall-bodied AEC Swift new in 1970. The LH is parked alongside Ensignbus heritage vehicle 192 (F292 NHJ), an MCW Metrobus Mk2. |
