| 摘要： | This report estimates the economic benefits derived from the Physical Oceanographic Real-Time System (PORTS) (Trade Name) installation at Tampa Bay. We estimate benefits in dollar terms to the extent possible, and also describe non-quantifiable benefits. Sources of economic benefit from Tampa Bay PORTS information include: Greater draft allowance/increased cargo capacity and reduced transit delays for commercial maritime transportation (water level information); Reduced risk of groundings/allisions for maritime traffic (currents and wind information); Enhanced recreational use of Tampa Bay by boaters, windsurfers, etc. (winds, weather forecasts, and other information); and Improved environmental/ecological planning and analysis, including hazardous material spill response. |
