| 摘要： | A highbridge all-Leyland Titan PD2/1 from the Isle of Man is set to be the main attraction at next year's Original King Alfred Running Day in Winchester on May 6. Fifteen all-Leyland Titan PD1As and PD2s purchased between 1947 and 1953 - six of the PD2s were highbridge - formed the mainstay of the fleet for almost 20 years, but the last were sold for scrap by 1971. The restored bus that will represent them is one of a pair of Isle of Man Road Services PD2s that the Friends of King Alfred Buses (FoKAB) acquired in poor condition from the London Bus Export Company at Lydney in 1990 with a view to making one King Alfred lookalike out of them. Both were standard specification vehicles with destination boxes identical to those on King Alfred Titans. |
