A" combination of nostalgia and current affairs", writes editor Alan Millar in his introduction to this annual favourite, and indeed it is. The current affairs are ably illustrated by the cover picture of a Bee Network-liveried Wright StreetDeck, complementing the editor's own piece on the birth of a new dawn for Greater Manchester. Farther south, Mark Lyons blends the two, outlining transport history in Bournemouth and a more detailed description of the collapse of Yellow Buses. Bob Hind travels around and compares and contrasts the bus networks of Belfast and Dublin, which he concludes are probably good advertisements for public ownership, while Mark Bailey provides photographs of the many express coach operators that can be found on the Emerald Isle. |
