Renfrew-based coach operator Gibson Direct has been placed into liquidation after being badly hit by coronavirus lockdown restrictions. Robert Gibson started the business in 1996, when he registered a frequent minibus service between Renfrew Ferry and Paisley town centre. A Paisley-Braehead service followed in 1999, then a Paisley-Erskine service in 2000, and Paisley-Govan Cross and Erskine-Glasgow services in 2001. The first non-minibuses and the first new vehicles arrived that year, but a change of direction took place in 2004 when significant tendered service operation began including Dial-a-Bus work for Strathclyde PTE. |
