The North West Vehicle Restoration Trust took Ribble 249 (HRN 249G), its 1969 Bristol RELL6G with 41-seat dual-door ECW body, on a New Year run around its former routes in Liverpool, Bootle, Crosby, Formby and Kirkby, culminating in its arrival at the former city centre terminus at Water Street for the Pier Head, where it was posed beneath the imposing structure of the Liver Building. Its post-1972 National Bus Company poppy red livery has both the NBC and Merseyside PTE logos from the years when the PTE controlled the bus network. |
