What are the main responsibilities of your role? This is a tough question as the remit with HR is so vast. Ultimately, I am responsible for the people strategy. I align it with business objectives, so that we travel in the same direction to achieve our goals. Other areas that I'm responsible for include payroll, organisational structure, training, wellbeing, health & safety, and employee relations. This includes rewards and benefits - I recently introduced what we believe is industry-leading maternity pay, for example. I manage a team of three, covering 305 colleagues across five sites, and attend board meetings to ensure people remain high on the agenda. I have regular meetings with the directors and general managers, as well as mentor new management to further support them. Everything people-related is my responsibility and something I take extremely seriously. |
