| 摘要： | Bitumen waterproofing membrane specialist Copemit has developed a new reinforcing membrane for road renovation, which it says can increase road life by up to 400%. Its PRO ROAD geocomposite stress-absorbing membrane interlayer (SAMI) range is installed beneath the road surface, distributing dynamic forces to reduce structural deterioration of the road. "Working with the Polytechnic University of Marche in Ancona, we demonstrated the increase of useful life of a pavement reinforced with PRO ROAD compared to a non-reinforced pavement," reports quality manager Andrea Colombo. "Depending on the road build-up, the lifetime goes up to over 400% on extra-urban roads or around 170% on highly trafficked roads." With a global market in roofing membranes, Copernit is looking to expand its range of products for roads and bridges in the coming years. The company, founded in 1975 and manufacturing bituminous membranes since 1991, exports between 60-65% of its products by turnover.
