摘要：	In 2012, the Natural Sounds and Night Skies Division (NSNSD) received a request to collect baseline acoustical data at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (PIRO). From July 2012 to September 2012 three acoustical monitoring systems were deployed in the park. These stations were configured to collect sound pressure level data and continuous audio recordings for approximately thirty days but remained deployed for an additional month due to logistics of retrieval. One station, PIRO003/Au Sable Dunes, failed to record any data due to an equipment failure. The baseline data collected during this period for the remaining two sites will help managers and planners assess the current condition of the acoustical environment in different areas of the park. The measured existing and natural ambient conditions may also be used as a baseline for noise modeling efforts.
