Currently crash data for City and County roads is available in our crash database. However, since Cities and Counties do not use a highway and milepost system, ODOT is unable to use SPIS on City and County Roads. The crashes on City and County roads will need to be geo-coded and traffic volumes assigned before a SPIS program can be developed to evaluate the top 5% high crash locations for all public roads in Oregon. ODOT is nearing completion of a Geographic Information System (GIS) SPIS project called SPIS PUB which is set up in two phases. SPIS PUB is an effort to expand the ODOT Safety Priority Index System (SPIS) from just analyzing state highways to analyzing all public roads in Oregon which have traffic volumes and typically those roads that are functional classified. |
