| 摘要： | Being surrounded by so much water and with so many tourists, Hawaii is a natural market for boatbuilders. Some vessels are built locally, but many are "imported" from the mainland. All American Marine, Bellingham, Wash., recently sent two aluminum workboats, separately, to Hawaii for very different purposes. One, the IMUA, is a 68.5'×25' offshore research vessel built for the University of Hawaii and the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology. The semi-displacement catamaran was designed by Nic de Waal at Teknicraft in Auckland, New Zealand. The new research vessel incorporates proven design elements from other Teknicraft/AAM projects including the Blue Manta and the Shearwater. |
