Though the pool of shipyard laborers is deep along the Gulf Coast, big yards like Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, Miss., and Austal USA, Mobile, Ala., that employ thousands of workers drain the pool of experienced craftsmen and crafts women for smaller yards. |
