Caterpillar Marine Power Systems was one of the first, introducing its Powered Marine Hybrid System, a complete hybrid propulsion package applicable to all engine platforms, in 2013. Developed with electrical specialists Aspin Kemp & Associates (AKA), the package utilizes AKA's XeroPoint hybrid marine propulsion system and provides fuel savings of up to 25%, Cat said. |
