| 摘要： | We now know many of the ASCE members, once lost to history, who took part in a photograph commemorating its 20th annual convention in 1888 — including two identifications that likely push back the record of women and minorities as members of the Society. Founded in 1852 to represent members of the civil engineering profession worldwide, ASCE is the oldest engineering society in the United States. Some 36 years later in Milwaukee, ASCE held its 20th annual convention, marking the occasion with a group photograph and attendee list published in its Transactions. |
