摘要: Interfaces in polymer based carbon fiber composites are critical regions that are most susceptible to delamination under static and impact loads. Debonding or delamination is observed to be a significant failure mechanism in layered composites with significant visible damage. A computational modeling approach is being developed to obtain optimized designs for interfaces and upscale the influence of interface reinforcements for damage and failure resistant designs, which will aid in improving the overall performance of the composite.
