TEN YEARS AGO, following signifieant flooding in 2011, the Lower Mississippi River was extremely low-at some points 52 feet lower than the previous year; Osage Marine relocated in St. Louis Harbor to the former site of St. Louis Ship; and the Corps of Engineers canceled a feasibility study for the proposed Donaldson-to-the-Gulf levee project, saying the cost was too high. TWENTY YEARS AGO, Ingram Industries Inc. completed its acquisition of Midland Enterprises LLC; and the St. Louis Engineer District held the second triple christening in Corps of Engineers history, of the towboat Grand Tower, the repowered dredge Charles Lewis Potter and the crane barge Nevan A. Fisher. |
