When The Waterways Journal caught up with him, Bill Carrier, 80, was about to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the marine surveying firm he founded in 1982 with his wife Brenda -Carrier Marine- by going on a bridge inspection with his son Tim. Tim's twin, Robert, also works with his father and mother. The brothers, who are 42, each have 20 years of experience.'I just had my 6-month-phys-ical," Bill Carrier told The Waterways Journal. "I have no issues. I've lost a little strength, but I can still climb up ladders." Carrier credits his good health partly to his life in the country, where he lives on a 75-acre farm. "I have to stay active. There's always something to do-mowing the lawn, cutting brushwood. It keeps me going." |
