| 摘要： | TEN YEARS AGO, the Corps of Engineers began work on a $5.8 million underwater "sill" at Mississippi River Mile 65 AHP to block saltwater from advancing upriver and threatening municipal water supplies; the Corps said that the Navigation and Ecosystem Sus-tainability Program (NESP) on the Upper Mississippi and Illinois Rivers was out of money after receiving no funding in 2011 or 2012; and Golding Barge line christened the mv. Sophia Golding. TWENTY YEARS AGO, a dirt slide closed Wolf Harbor on the Memphis riverfront; Capt. Robert Ash-port celebrated 61 years of working on the rivers; and the Maritime Administration issued a report calling for more funding for research and development of marine transportation systems. |
