摘要：	During its 89th annual Maritime Person of the Year Gala, held October 25, the Propeller Club of the U.S. Port of New Orleans honored Cherrie Felder, vice president of Channel Shipyard Company, for her decades-long service to the maritime industry. A native of Summit, Miss., and a graduate of Vanderbilt University, Felder found her way to the maritime industry in the early 1980s by an unusual, yet uniquely New Orleans path. After earning an art degree, Felder moved to New Orleans to serve as assistant to the chief curator of the New Orleans Museum of Art. That's where Felder met Dennis Ste-ger, founder and president of Channel Shipyard, through a party at the Museum of Art to promote the newly established New Orleans Rodeo.
