摘要: | Motivated by a lack of explosive test data on nuclear submarines, the Navy has sought other means to qualify installed equipment in submarine shock environments. The currently used method for non-shock testable items is the Dynamic Design Analysis Method (DDAM) developed by the Naval Research Laboratory in the early 1960's. With the advent of large-scale computing power, newer numerical methods have become available to predict equipment responses. This investigation is a comparative study of DDAM and ELSHOK; a new generation numerical shock response code. The limitations and strong points of both methods are examined using illustrative examples. |
