Dudley Yeomans, St. Charles, Mo., retired surveyor, died April 24. He was 96. A World War II Marine Corps veteran wounded in the Battle of Pelelui, he started in the river industry in 1960 as a dispatcher for Hougland Barge Line in Paducah, Ky. In 1970, he moved to New Orleans, where he was a plant manager for Electro-Coal Transfer Corporation. In 1973, he moved to St. Louis as a surveyor for Merrill Marine Service. He returned to New Orleans three years later, and after a stint with CGB Enterprises, he established an office there for Merrill Marine Service. He retired in 1986. |
