| 摘要： | Morgan City, La.-based Conrad Shipyard has been awarded a contract with the U.S. Navy for the design and construction of up to eight Yard, Repair, Berthing and Messing (YRBM) barges. YRBM barges serve as temporary housing for crew members when their ship is in port for repairs or maintenance. The fixed-price contract has a potential value of more than $140 million. Conrad released a sketch of the barge, which will be an ABS A1 Accommodation Barge measuring 151 feet, 4 inches by 49 feet, 4 inches, with a 14-foot depth. The barge will offer dockside living accommodations for 199 crew members and messing capacity for 300. The space will also include medical offices, classrooms, workspaces, laundry rooms, storerooms and lounging areas. |
