Omaha opened the Missouri River commercial navigation season. CHIRTY YEARS AGO, Kirby Marine subsidiary Dixie Carriers Inc. completed its purchase of Vicksburg, Miss.-based Ole Man River Towing Inc.; two vibration-resistant "concept" boats, the Cindy Celeste and Elizabeth Dewey, were christened by National Marine Inc. in Paducah, Ky.; and the St. Louis Engi-neer District won the Federal Design Achievement Award for its design of bendway weirs. |
