Houston-based Great Lakes Dredge & Dock Corporation (GLDD) has announced the receipt of eight dredging contracts totaling more than $143 million, with an additional $102.9 million in options pending award. The largest award is $26.6 million for the South Atlantic Division Regional Harbor Dredging 2023 Project, which will involve dredging the entrance channels of Brunswick and Savannah, Ga., Wilmington and Morehead City, N.C., and Charleston, S.C. The project also includes $12.7 million in option work pending award. The Savannah, Wilmington and Charleston engineer districts are the contracting organizations for the project. GLDD expects to commence work on the project in December, with an estimated completion date of August 2023. Also on the East Coast, Great Lakes was awarded a $16.4 million contract to perform maintenance dredging at the Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay near St. Marys, Ga., and just north of Jacksonville, Fla. Material will be beneficially placed on Fort Clinch Beach and Fernandina Beach, with the Jacksonville Engineer District serving as the contracting agency. |
