| 摘要： | This report summarizes- the operations analysis of freight, commuter and intercity trains projected to be operating over the Washington, D.C., to Richmond, Virginia railroad corridor in the year 2015. The operations analysis has identified many changes to the existing track configuration, additional track construction, revised passenger platform locations, etc. that must be made if 2015 traffic levels are to be reliably accommodated. Particular emphasis is placed on the two rush hours, when commuter service is expected to triple and speed of intercity service is projected to increase substantially. Plans to reroute passenger trains through Main St. Station in downtown Richmond, Virginia will require very significant changes to the 20 miles of railrod from Greendale through Richmond to Centrailia. |
